Uudenmaan Seuramatkat Oy and Timo Repo arrange events and experiences for international tourists visting Finland. The goal is to let them experience the authentic Finnish lifestyle by hiking in a forest, berry picking and of course visiting the sauna.
The sauna diploma is a nice memory to hang on your wall, showing others that you withstood the heat of authentic Finnish sauna.
Finnish design history bases heavily on Jugendstil which is the nordic version of Art Nouveau, and on Functionalism that strips away everything unnecessary.
Combining these two the sauna diploma has a clean white space with moderate decorations and two birch leaf illustrations, depicting the Vihta or Vasta (birch whisk used in the sauna).
The first tourists were from China, hence the diploma receiver's name in both Pinying and Mandarin.
